![]() ![]() ![]() So, I don't see the benefit in creating a copy of the map, because then I'll just have *two* copies that behave the same way. Otherwise you have to guess where they line up. The shape is immediately applied to the image. For my example I made the shape green because it contrasts nicely against the colors used in the image. So then I tried selecting the southern-most node at the intersection of the page border and then shift-selecting the node in the bottom right corner and tried to "break path at selected nodes". From the menu that appears, select Crop to Shape, and then click the shape you want to crop to. Now go to the Object menu of the menu bar then navigate the Clip option of the drop-down list then click on Set sub-option of this option. No error message, no entry in the undo list. Hold shift key of the keyboard then make click on this rectangle and image one by one with the cursor of this tool for selecting both at the same time. But the "join selected nodes" button does absolutely nothing when I do that. It seems to me that I should be able to select the northern-most node at the intersection of the page border and shift-select the southern-most node at the intersection of the page border and "join" them to complete that island. As an example, I attempted to create a separate object of the land mass on the right side of the map. And I don't really understand what you're suggesting. Thanks for your reply Flamingolady! First of all, let me say that I'm a new Inkscape user (if you haven't already figured that out).
